Moss man!

When I first met John he was starting to spend most evenings looking at bits of green fluff-like plants, better known as mosses and liverworts. When I mentioned this to Sue Rumsey (wife of Fred, the well-known moss man) she said (in a Mancunian accent) "you'd better nip that in the bud!" as apparently Fred gives her no peace, examining everything moss-like everywhere, even in Tesco's car park, which can get embarrassing!

So along with Sue, I am now officially a moss widow; although I tend to get competitive so have got going with bryos too. John is now British Bryological Society country recorder, which means that amongst other things like recording, we will be organising some field meetings for beginners. Get in touch via our website for more details!
